Steve Ford 

Stephen was capped at Wales at Under 15, 16, Schools, Youth, 21 and was also selected for the full Wales tour of Austraila in 1996/1997 playing two games. Stephen also played for his local club Aberavon and also European rugby with Llanelli and Bridgend, as well as being captain of the latter for two Seasons.

At the age of 25, he decided to move to southern Ireland, basing himself in Cork and becoming Head Coach of Highfield RFC.  After spending 7 years at the club, achieving promotion after promotion, Highfield rose to 1B of the All-Ireland League, their highest ever position.

In 2008 he took on a new challenge at Dolphin RFC, a team which played at the highest level of the All-Ireland League Division 1A and went on to develop at least a dozen Munster and Ireland and othr professional players such as James Cronin (Ireland), Niall and Rory Scannell, Cian Bohane, Dave O’Callaghan (Munster), James Coughlan (PAU) Darren O’Shea (Worcester Warriors) John Quill (USA Eagles).

Stephen has since left Dolphin RFC and is now Senior coach (Director of Rugby) with Presentation Brothers Cork, where he has been working 15 years since moving to Ireland,  winning Senior cups and Junior cups, and where he also worked with and developed some of Ireland’s leading players like Simon Zebo (British Lion)and Peter O’Mahony.

Stephen is a level 5 coach, achieving the highest level in 2009 and has also been Head Coach of Munster at all Under 18,19 and 20 levels.

Stephen is also working as a financial consultant with Acorn in southern Ireland, and is married with 2 sons and 1 daughter.

Steve is the rugby scouting consultant for GSF in Ireland and has a unique insight and understanding of rugby at all levels, from grassroots to clubs to International, within the Emerald Isle.
